The Asian Association of World Historians (AAWH)

The First Congress of the Asian Association of World Historians has successfully been concluded with the kind cooperation of both many presenters and participants.

At general meeting on 29 May, new board of directors were elected and the statute of this association was ratified. Please see both the report of the General Assembly on 29 May 2009 and statutes page.

We have also updated the opening speech by the president on 29 May and the report of the first congress.




AAWH News

The Third European Congress on World and Global History by European Network in Universal and Global History (ENIUGH) will be held in 11-14 April 2011, London School of Economics & Political Science, Britain. The founding conference of the African Network of Universal and Global History was held in the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, 9-12 December.

Its first conference will be held in September 2011, Cairo, Egypt.




The congress pages have just been updated. We are preparing the proceedings of the first congress of the Asian Association of World Historians, which will be published during the academic years 2009-10, and thus we closed pages relating to the congress papers. In due course time, we will update the page for the congress proceedings in this website.

The Second Congress of the AAWH will be held in 2012 at Ewha Womens University, Seoul.




A new international organization for world history was founded with the name of The Asian Association of World Historians (AAWH) on May 4, 2008 at Nankai University, Tianjin, China.

The purpose of the Association is to advance research, teaching, and public discussion on large-scale historical studies in or for the Asia-Pacific region.
