Deniliquin

Sandhills
So known till 1842 when Ben Boyd took up a run and named it Denilakoon after a famous Aboriginal wrestler. This name evolved into Deniliquin about 75km north east of Echuca.

The Sandhills
Renamed Deniliquin in 1843 by Ben Boyd who acquired land here, in the Riverina.

Named by Oxley after his Barron Field, a New South Wales Judge. Now called Mount Womba.
