Sandhills
So known till 1842 when Ben Boyd took up a run and named it Denilakoon after a famous Aboriginal wrestler. This name evolved into Deniliquin about 75km north east of Echuca.

The Sandhills
Renamed Deniliquin in 1843 by Ben Boyd who acquired land here, in the Riverina.
