Kingston South East
Kingston
So named after Sir George Strickland Kingston, South Australian Deputy Surveyor General. The name was later exparded to Kingston South East to avoid confusion with Kingston-on-Murray. It is at the southern end of the Coorong.

Maria Creek

Formed in 1918 by the amalgamation of Kingston, Lacepede and Rosetown;

A forgotten township which was amalgamated in 1918 with Kingston and Rosetown to form the Town of Thurk. In 1940 this name was changed to Kingston and "South East" was added to distinguish it from Kingston on the Murray ; about 300km south east of Adelaide.
