Writing and Submitting an Application Thesis for a Program-based Doctoral Degree
When enrolling in Osaka University’s second-term doctoral program and applying for a doctoral degree, as a general rule, students must receive research advising in accordance with the below programs and write a thesis that is appropriate for this program-based doctoral degree.
First year of the second-term doctoral program

- Take the doctoral dissertation advising course

- Submit a research summary report

- Submit a preliminary doctoral dissertation and topic notification

Third year of the second-term doctoral program

Public review by the review committee (a public oral exam and a final exam will be conducted)
(Review report with the graduate school faculty, determination of degree conferment by the graduate school faculty)
